Ann Taulbee (Young):  

It would probably surprise the few classmates I knew in high school to learn that I make my living in the performing arts. Terribly shy, pudgy and bespeckled, I married right after graduation. A divorced mother by age 20, I was an admissions counselor at UH (thanks to my father who was a dean at that institution) and worked week-ends as hostess at several clubs in Market Square where I began managing my first band. With a background in dance (my great-aunt was Billye McDowell Studios in North Houston), I choreographed for several clubs (chorus line) and began teaching dance to children. However, by age 24, I was tired of the "scene" and my daughter and I moved to San Marcos. There I completed 119 hours in elementary education with an minor in theater/dance. I also opened my first dance studio and formed a dance troupe which entertained at venues throughout Texas and surrounding states. I worked with many Texas bands and appeared in several not-so-famous movies and musicals. It was here that I began writing and producing children's theater which is still my greatest love. In my early 30's I moved to Corpus Christi and managed the entertainment for several country clubs and owned a fashion production/dance company.
