Anna's Story
I doubt that many from the year 74 will remember me. I left in 73, and am listed as a senior in that book. I hated school, and mainly hung out with those whom were called "Freaks" by the rest of the people.
I've been married since 1977, to Ron Etters. We stayed in Alexandria, till our son, William Lawrence, (Larry) was born, in 1980, and moved into our 1st home, in Springfield, Va.. I had decided when I was quite young, to stay at home with him, and Ron supported my decision. I was told by my doctor, because of health reasons, that Larry would probably be an only child.
When I discovered I was expecting my 2nd child, just 6 months later, I was surprised. It was a difficult pregnancy, and I was relieved when Elizabeth Charlotte (Betsy) was born, at the end of 1981.
We moved to a new home, in Centreville in mid 1983.
Margaret Lawreen, (Margie) was born in mid 1984.
Loved being Mama! I sewed all the children's clothes, made all their foods, (even their baby foods) volunteered at their schools, sang in choir, went back to school, read all the c...Expand for more
lassics (Tolstoy, Dickens, Bronte), and became a Grandma, in 2000, when Vivian Celeste was born. Then Anna Elise, and Bella Miechelle were born in 2002, Edwin Rodrigo (Rigo) born in 2004, Alissa (I call her "Twinklestar"), Claire, Brock, and Branson, in '05, '07, '10, and 2012.
Went to Italy in 2007, after renewing our vows, and it was pretty interesting.
Took 11 months, and stayed at my sister-in-laws home, in Florida.
Got my very first dog, who is a huge part of my life. His name is Chester, and I'm crazy about him.
We took a 6 month RV trip, staying in a small Va. Town, called "Edinburg". Living next to a river, even with 72 ducks, was calming enough to help me stop smoking--finally in 2013
Moved to a beautiful town in Isle of Wight, Va. in July 2014. We have 75 acres, our own pond with a small island, and 8 ducks. Betsy and her 5 children are with us, for now. Living with them is priceless. I have gardens, too. Chester and I take long walks together. It's like living in a park, with many paths through the woods.
Life is pretty darned good!
