Anna's Story
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
I've been a nurse for 39 years and I think it was the best choice for a career. For the past 6 years I've been working as a Hospice nurse. What an honor to be able to share people's final days and hours. I've seen a lot of things that confirm my belief in the afterlife and Heaven. Gives me goosebumps at times.
I have 2 daughters and 1 grandson. I also have 2 sons who died as infants. They were twins and they'd be 36 years old if they were still living. How different would my life have been??
My current age is 59. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be in a nursing home or dead. I was so completely wrong, although some days I feel like I should be in a nursing home!

ould tell you I'm a lot of fun and very smart, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof.
If I could change 1 thing from my past I'd have gone to the College of St Scholastica in Duluth for my nursing degree. That would've changed EVERYTHING else!!
I was married for 7 years and then divorced. I've never remarried but there are times when I wish I had met the right person and had a couple more kids. Most of the time, being single is pretty nice....no one to boss me around!
After I got divorced I moved to Rochester and later to Stewartville, where I've stayed. I've owned my home for 30 years and raised my girls right here.
My favorite vacation spot in the whole world is Ely, MN. I love it there.
I’d like to find a job in or near Winona so I can relocate closer to my kids. This is a long-term goal.
