Anne's Story
Life
I live in Scotland. I opened a coffee house in Edinburgh in 1995 (one of the first here!) and sold it some years later. I now own a coffee roastery which started trading a few years ago.
We moved to Scotland where I studied for my Masters Degree. My plan was to allow the kids to finish through the high school system here, get my PhD during this period, then move back to the States. I started a PhD. degree, but during the third year I opened a coffee house, hoping to create a small income during the remainder of my stud...Expand for more
ies. However, the business was so demanding that I stopped the studies while in my fourth year.
I have no regrets. I enjoy working for myself and can't envision ever working for anyone else again. After selling the coffee house/cafe, I began looking at the coffee roasting side of the industry. I love coffee! Always have! Now I am a coffee roaster, and even at this early stage, we are beginning to be recognized as the finest coffee roastery in Scotland!
