Life Where to start? After graduating from East, I attended UW Madison, majoring in Fashion Design. But the summer of my junior year I got married, and realized I wasn't heading for NY and the fashion world after all. So I took all my electives the following year in journalism, and tried to find a job as an editor. Not finding one right away, I went on to grad school, also at UW-Madison, majoring in Communications. My next move took me to the Quad Cities, a Mississippi River community straddling the Iowa-Illinois border, where we settled in Davenport, Iowa. Our plan was to live there two years and move on - -but as you all know, life happens, and I ended up living there for 30 years. Practically a native. While my kids therefore considered themselves "Hawkeyes," our daughter attended UW-Madison, and now works for the Milwaukee's largest newspaper, as a copy editor. So she's become a Badger, after all. Our son also had the journalist bug in him, but he's a photographer, and a graduate of University of Iowa. So he remains an official Hawkeye.
