Anne's Story
I actually moved with my Air Force family to Idaho in the summer of 1976, but I went to Frenship High for the first 3 years of high school. I used to hang out with Shirley Russell, Kay Harrison, Glenn Cotrill and Mike Littlejohn, among others my first two years of school there. My favorite teachers were Bobby Gibson and Karen Reeves.
After graduating Mountain Home HIgh School (blech) in 1977, I just kept going to school. Went to Boise State University for an undergrad (1983), University of Connecticut for a Masters (1985) and Purdue University for a Ph.D.(1993) all three degrees in Communication. Stayed in school still, as a professor. Taught at and did research for the University of Georgia in Athens for 3 years, then New Mexico State University for 16 years. 016 I've been the Executive Director of New York Angels, a group of 140 men and women investing in early stage startups. Last year they collectively invested $22M in 33 companies.
I can't get enough of fashion, film, books, art, architecture, tech or art--all are reasons I moved to New York. The parks, museums, stores and architecture in the city are endlessly fascinating, as are the people. I love that pretty much every day I can hear 3 or 4 different languages being spoken around me and the clothes I see on folks range from the completely crazy to stunning to cutting edge fashion.
Never married, no kids (but I do have a Welsh Corgi companion), still have a great sense of humor. I go by the name Liz Lindsey now, although I certainly don't hesitate to throw around Dr. Lindsey if it's to my benefit. I worked my ass off for that title!
