Anthony's Story
Life
After High School I entered a Plumbing Apprenticeship. In March of '72 I got laid off, Thank God! Ten days later I was in the U.S. Army, where I served in Texas, California. and what was then West Germany. I patrolled the Iron Curtain along the Czechoslovakian Border. I achieved the rank of Sergeant at pay grade E-5. I was earning $525.00 a month as a Tank Commander. I turned down Staff Sergeant (E-6) $12,000 bonus (2 yrs pay) and a shot at Officers Candidate School, to get out and come home to a skirt, she broke up with me shortly after. That was the first big mistake in my life.
Once home I landed a job in Security at Princeton University. They sent me to the NJSP Academy. I worked at PU until '84. I arrested Brook Shields' stalker, who resisted, we fought, I won, he had the snot beat out of him, oops! He got 6 months in the Mercer County Jail. I ended up leaving PU after that, good old PU didn't really like aggressive police work and made my life there unbearable.
I bounced to a couple of jobs until in 1987 I landed in the Jackson Township Police Department. (That's where I was in '95 for our 25th reunion, you knew I was there, Jack Seeley told you. I guess I wasn't good enough to have been invited) So, here it is 2011, I retired from the Jackson Township Police Department as a Sergeant on 01/01/2009. I have a comfortable pension. I currently work for Glock Inc. as District Manager for Law Enforcement Sales, in NJ, PA & DE.
I got married in '79, had a girl in '84, another in '85, got divorced in '89. Re-married in '92, had another Daughter in '96. My oldest is now 30, next is 29, graduated Monmouth Univ. with her BS, and TCNJ with her Masters. She's living with her Mom on Hilton Head Island SC. and looking for a JOB.. The youngest is 18, and in OCC.
That's all the kids I have, that I know of! (I've been around some)

Yeah, that's Lt. Col. Oliver North in the "NOW" picture. He's one hell of a good guy. Ran into him the following year and he remembered MY name!

College
I started Mercer County Community College in 1977, rec'd an AS in Law Enforcement in Dec. 1981. Transferred to TCNJ in Jan 1982 attending very part time. I rec'd my BS in Criminal Justice in June of 1992. Between VA Benefits, tax write offs and employers paying for my college, I made a profit going to school. Why I didn't get my Masters I'll never know.
Military
I enlisted into the U.S. Army on March 17 1972. I did basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ. Then it was off to the First Cavalry Division in Ft. Hood, Texas. After about 1 year I was transferred to Hunter Ligget in CA. TDY (temporary duty) 4 months later I was back at Ft. Hood. I was a Scout and Tank Commander of a Sheridan Tank (AR/AAVM551) In Feb of 1974, while my tank was dead lined (broken) I drove another tank on a training mission. When the CO told us to turn around, because he had led us onto the wrong road, I tried to turn around. Driving off the road to do so. What the CO failed to tell us is there wasn't anything along side of the road but air. We went down an 80% embankment about 40 feet high crashing onto the nose of the tank, which flipped over onto the turret. the tank came to rest in a river, standing on the rear bumper, with the turret leaning on the bank. No one was injured. The tank suffered $150,000.00 in damage. I was found not to be at fault.
March 1974 found me in West Germany were I was attached to the Second Armored Cavalry Regiment in Amburg West Germany. There I patrolled the "Iron Curtain" between West Germany and Czechoslovakia. I attained the rank of Sergeant and was discharged in March 1975.
