Life
Hi, all -- I returned to Washington in 2003 after being gone since 1987. Spent the intervening time in Washington, D.C. for three years working in the Senate, and then worked/studied/lived in Europe from 1990 until returning in 2003. Met/married a Czech lawyer in Prague and we have two kids. Owned a Public Affairs co w. offices in four countries, sold that and returned to Olympia as my father was not doing well (he's since died)....Expand for more
Have gone from very international to very local. Am now the City Manager in Maple Valley & live a few miles W of there. A huge change in lifestyle, etc but nice & challenging in different ways. Used to be in several countries per week, now it is a big deal to get up to Seattle. Pretty good fit though at this stage in life as we have two young kids and it is nice to spend quality family time. Always happy to hear from old friends.
