Tony's Story
Is this supposed to be my life story?
Can I rate my childhood in comparison to other people? No, I can't...every one of us has our own triumphs and tragedies growing up. I, like you have my scars, both physically and emotionally. Most I have healed, some still act up occasionally, much like a once injured limb that still reacts to inclement weather.
Growing up without a mom sucked. However at least I had one parent. Mom died when I was nine. This forced me to learn how to do all the things that most of my friends were depending on their mothers to do for them.
This exposure to the tragedy of my Mother's death gave me the experience of tremendous sorrow and loss...and set me wondering at a very early age, questioning everything... I was very curious...and bristling with emotions of all sorts.
Probably one of the events that set me into that wondering state was just after my mothers death, when my cousin sexually abused me. Exposing me to feelings and sensations my 9 year old mind and body weren't ready for, really caused some trauma in my life. That one sinful act by my cousin set off a domino effect of self destruction. I credit God with stopping that before it destroyed me.
(bet you never expected to read that kind of honesty on classmates.com eh)
Growing up I also had the unpleasant experience of being the kid who was bullied or always teased and later, the kid who was praised and respected. I was involved in wrestling and track in my junior year of high school and was a 'star' athlete on a few occasions and a Letterman.
I'm a certified scuba diver; played team baseball, basketball, football, (and even the deadly dangerous game of bowling).
Around 18 I decided bodybuilding was more interesting and did that for a while. I've started a handful of my own businesses including a landscaping company, some network marketing companies, and more. I've succeeded and failed. I've been a restaurant manager, worked as a cook, delivered pizzas, refinished furniture, repaired photo-copiers, built a house, wrangled cattle, raced go-karts, fished, became a marksman, learned how to hunt with a bow, got into trouble a lot and got back on track.

use I bought into the "party life" and then in 1989 I gave that up, and started helping others, (who were still killing brain cells) to stop.
I pursued my dream to become an actor and had some moderate success at it. One HBO movie, one CBS mini-series (extra role only) and over 100 stage plays, including the world premier of Young Black Beauty, John Lennon and Me and Tuck Everlasting. I put my acting dream on hold to raise my step kids and then had two of my own, so the acting has become more of a 'whenever I get a chance" rather than how I pay the bills.
I've been an Atheist, an Agnostic and finally a True Believer. I've studied the religions of the world with an open mind and discovered many of the misconceptions of the world's peoples. From my years of searching, the only faith I can NOT poke holes in is Christianity, I am convinced in the existence of Jesus Christ and the truth of who He said He was. I believe He is the only way to the Father. There is no other path to God other than Christ. he was sent to redeem the world, and whoever believes in His deity, follows the teachings of His life, trusts in His death as payment for sin, and in His resurrection as the way to eternal life, shall be saved.
It's all very fascinating!
I don't B.S. people. I'm a straight forward kind of guy.
In my work as a copywriter and marketing consultant, I've seen a lot of silliness. I don't believe in telling people what they want to hear, it's more important to tell them what will be beneficial.
I try to be a very conscientious man...I do the best I can to love my Lord God and Savior, my family, my church, my friends and all the people I meet.
Including my clients.
One thing that has really helped me with my copy was my experience as a professional actor on stage, TV and in film. I learned more about getting inside someone else's head (and being real) than I had ever known before. I've got a passion to write and I love the fact that I can put a few words on a piece of paper and someone will spend their hard earned money because I've touched them somehow...
Life is not easy for anyone. I try to count my blessings each day and thank God for all that I have, and for the things I don't have.
