Anthony's Story
I grew up in Brooklyn and lived on 60th street between 19th and 20th Ave. I attended PS48 then PS226. After that I attended NUHS from 1959-1963. I didnât have enough credits to graduate (to much goofing off for the previous 3 years.) Rather then come back in September I took 2 courses at Lincoln High during the summer. Because of that I was not able to be in the 1963 yearbook or go to the prom.
I went to work at the New York City Transit Authority doing Information Technology work, got married in 1966 (didnât last but 8 1/2 years, with 2 children). I then went to work at a brokerage house doing Information Technology work. After that I went to work at Bell Labs, then AT&T. I was forced out of work due to downsizing. I then went to work at a consulting company until I was terminated due to off shoring. I was 56 at the time and I have been retired ever since. I moved to New Jersey in 1971 and have lived in various locations. I now live in Monroe Township NJ with my second wife and one son. We are happily married for 25 years.

gery at SLOAN, thankfully I did not lose my vocal cords but I have a very difficult time swallowing solid food so I am on a primarily liquid diet. The cancer treatments which were done at SLOAN in Basking Ridge NJ involved 33 Radiation treatments and 3 rounds of Chemotherapy. I had a feeding tube for about 10 months in 2011. I also donât have taste buds and no salivary glands, but I have my life.
I had been actively involved in Civil War living history for several years until 2013. My website is civil-war-tribute.com. It canât be navigated because the top menus donât appear anymore since I went to internet explorer 2011. Well at least you can see me and my wife as our personas of General and Mrs. Sherman.
On another note, I wonder why our 1963 yearbook is not listed on classmates. My wife and I went to NUHS for a visit in 1998. It was 35 years since I had been there. While there I received a tour of the school and although they didnât have an extra copy of the 1963 yearbook they copied it for me. I would like to purchase a hardcopy.
Well thatâs my story in short. If interested please keep in touch.
