Anthony's Story
After being a total screwed up dork in high school, I attended IU and Ball State. Not that that fixed the dork part, but whatever.... Met my Best Friend and Love of My Life, Dixie, and got married in 1980. This year makes 35 years! We had three kids in three years, all now thirty-somethings. Two terrific grandsons--both born on the same day, 3 hours apart, in two different towns, to two of our kids.
I unfortunately got into restaurant management during college, which paid well, but sucks the very life out of you. After almost 20 years of that BS, I changed careers. For the last 15 years, I have been in Human Resources. Which also sucks the very life out of you, but to a slightly lesser degree and better salar...Expand for more
y! ha!. Thank God for weekends and grandkids, which is what keeps me sane. Relatively.
Obviously, as one can tell from my profile photo, I went from the 150 lb. kid you might have known at KHS, to a 210 lb. grandpa. Loving every minute of it too!
We have moved around a lot with my jobs. Most of our time has been spent up in Miami Co., and down in Bloomington, with a few years in New Jersey, and now back to the Kokomo area. We still attend St. Andrew Episcopal Church, where we were married.
So, the moral of this story is that no matter how much of a mess you are in your youth, God can fix it and make everything come together so that you can at least not remain completely embarrassed for the rest of your life!
