Antone's Story
In 1959 I joined the U.S. Air Force went to Lackland AFB for boot camp.From there I was stationed at Westover AFB in Chicopee,Ma. till 1961 I was transferred to Moron AB,Spain I spent 2 years.Spain was very enjoyable country to be stationed in.I came back to Fairhaven in Sept.1963n discharged from the Air Force.I worked at Sunbeam Bakery in New Bedford for around 6 months.In August 1964 I rejoined the Air Force and went to Travis AFB,California.I was there till 1966 when I was transferred to Ko...Expand for more
rat Royal Air Base in Thailand.I spent 6 months there then I was transferred to Udorn Royal Air Force base for 6 months.We were supporting the Vietnam war from Thailand.In 1967 I came back to US and was stationed at MacDill AFB,in Tampa,Fl.I was discharged in August 1968 and stayed here in Tampa bay area.I worked many different jobs till March 9,1987 I joined the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office as a Deputy Sheriff worked for 20 years.I retired from there in 2007 after 20 years of service.
