With three summers interning as a geologic aide, the degrees under my belt, and a lot of perseverance, I accepted my first job with DER in the Greensburg District Mining Office, then was promoted to the DER-Bureau of Oil and Gas Management in Pittsburgh. I later accepted a position with the DER-PA Geological Survey in Pittsburgh and was later promoted to Senior Geologic Scientist at the now DCNR-PA Geological Survey in Middletown. Going to SIU was the best thing that ever happened to me! It literally changed the direction of my life. Not retired yet.
