ised together with my two older sisters by a very strong minded widowed mother, since I was two years old, I was brought up in a strong industrious working class environment where work and education are the priorities. We migrated to the US in 1963 and my Mom was a laborer in a factory. She taught us that pride and value comes from working hard in this country of ours so that we can live a comfortable life and be respected. In short, working hard and not giving up when times get hard, because there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
She also instilled in me that our children are the most important gems that we have and it should be our goal to protect them and lead them to success so that they can spread their wings and fly, taking along all the good values that we have nourished them with. Society is not to be blamed for their development. The home is the most important and dangerous environment for them, because children are influenced by the manner in which we behave at home. It is what they they see on a daily basis that is a norm for them during their development... This is my strong belief.
My favorite past time is cooking and baking not just cooking but cooking with allot of love while sipping on a glass of wine and grooving to my music. I don't know why but my recipes seem to taste so much better...LOL. I love my brisket, flank steak, barbecue ribs, steaks saute in onions...um...with white rice...mac & cheese w/ southern fried chicken... you name it...I also love seafood especially shellfish...In essence, I LOVE to eat everything that looks and taste good ...It first has to look good for me to devour it,though. Presentation is very important.
You must try my carrot cake not to mention my rum cake WOW w/ vanilla ice cream. yum yum, you will come back for more ;).
I am an introvert, love to cook and host and be surrounded by positive gregarious people. I am not too crazy about critics. People should stop analyzing others and just take a good look at themselves and see what is missing in their life...if it can be fix then fix it otherwise get over it and enjoy life, because this is your only chance. Do the right thing! Stop dwelling on the past because I am not! God gave me another chance for I am a survivor.".
