Life Read college info under the college tab. I married Preston Phillips in January 1989. We moved to Sherman, TX to work for Texas Instruments in May 1990. We have two kids: Sarah Grace (2.7.1994) and Lane Jackson (10.19.1995). I quit working for TI shortly after Sarah was born and joined the most unappreciated and unpaid workforce in the world - Mommies. A few years ago I went back to school to join the most unappreciated and underpaid professional workforce in the world - Teachers. In January 2004 Preston was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He completed chemo and radiation in July 2004, and is currently in remission. Lymphoma is a form of cancer that cannot be cured. It just lies dormant for an indeterminate time before coming back. However, we try not to live waiting for the cancer to come back; we try TO LIVE. As Preston's oncologist reminded us, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. I graduated and became certified to teach in May 2005. I am now substituting in the Sherman area so I can decide what grade I want to teach and where. Plus -- it's a good way to get my foot in the door for a permanent job! OK - it's brag on my kids time!!!!! Sarah is a tomboy. She won't wear anything pink or anything with flowers on it.
