April's Story

UPDATE - I now live in Sonora, CA, on a small ranch with my husband, and lots of animals. I finally made it back to the Sierras, and I couldn't be happier! We're currently renovating a cottage in town in the hope of turning it into a vacation rental. I check out Facebook once in awhile, and I would love to hear from my old high school friends. I'm not very good at it, and I don't post very much, but it would be fun to hear from old friends and classmates! :) Hi. Thanks for thinking of me after all of these years. So to put it in a nutshell, I moved to the San Diego area in my early 30's and have been living here ever since. I am currently happily married to my second husband of 10 years, and prior to that, was married to my first for 7 years. I have two biological children and two step-kids. Kristi (step) is 23; David (son) is 22; Ashley (daughter) is 20; and Justin (stepson) is 20. They are all born within the same week of the year, so you can imagine what that's been like! Raising children has been a wonderful part of my life; being the team mom, fundraisers, parties, roommom stuff, field trips - especially the high school football stuff . . . it was lots and lots of fun! I have been a realtor for 20 years now, and I currently own a small commercial building that houses my brokerage as well as some other businesses. I'm involved with the local Chambers of Commerce, several trade organizations, and a few charity groups that are close to my heart. I guess I'm not much different than anyone else at this point in life; I try to be the best wife, mother, realtor, boss, friend . . . that I can. We love to travel but since we're business owners, we don't get to do as much of it as we'd like, so much of our free time is spent relatively locally. I spend as much time as possible in Newport Beach and Lagu...Expand for more
na; spectacular places! We love the galleries, the restaurants, shopping and just hanging near the water. My absolute favorite thing to do is to ocean jet ski! It's incredibly freeing - wild and invigorating. I highly recommend it. I jet ski as much as possible, (but not nearly enough). We make certain to hit Disneyland several times a year too. We loved it when the kids were younger but now that they're grown it may be even more fun! We all meet there or sometimes just Rob and I go. We have a friend who is an extremely talented and accredited concert violinist who does the street musician thing right there in Downtown Disney! How wild is that? He's a Julliard graduate and quite well known. He has played all over the world and with the most prestigious of orchestras. If you get a chance, please look him up on the internet. His name is Drew Tredick; you'll be glad you did. He created an electric violin that he sometimes brings with him, and the sound is incredible! His motivation for doing the Disney thing is that he wishes to expose as many people as possible to a type of music that they may have otherwise never experienced. He is an amazing musician as well as an amazing individual. If you get the chance, cruise Downtown Disney during a Summer evening and you may be fortunate enough to find him there. I miss northern California so much - especially the Sierras. I still get very homesick a couple of times a year, and have never completely given in to the SoCal thing. But my husband is from Southern California, so we're always taking advantage of all of the great things to do down here. If you have the time, I'd really love to hear from you too. Even if we didn't know one another that well, I think it would be fun to catch up. Please leave a message for me. Thanks again for thinking of me!
