1968-1970: we moved here to attend Magnolia in 1970, from living in Seoul, for 1 year: Dad was a lifer USMC: over there, we often would sneak up to the DMZ with local college kids, to see rock bands play at brothels, & had a summer jig as Go-Go dancers at rock battle-of-the-bands in a big theater: we met many ARMY draftees who went on to Viet Nam & many we kept contact with didn't make it back. we also frequently went to Buddhist Temples and chatted with Monks, which has had a long-term affect on my thinking. pre-'69, we had been in Oceanside for a few years, where i met forever-friend, David Van Druff ('73, and sister Diane, '74?)in junior high school. He ended up in Edison HS in HB, and was a world-class surfer-partier: now a fabulous HS teacher on a Native American Reservation, near Phoenix, where 1/2 his ancestry are rooted, & darling DIANNE is still in HB: married HS Sweetheart, has a son at Edison HS now. '70-'73+ Magnolia HS grads: My older sister MARSHA ('72), younger bro, PAUL ('77?) and I lived on Doyle Dr.,(I NOW LIVE HERE AGAIN w/Mum and my 2 teens) near 3 families many will know: the ever creative LUCAS' had 10 kids!, the musical ALCANTARs had 5?: and fabulous Astrid "Austie" Reinis(i spent most my HS time with her) and the kool KELLYs, with 4-5?, lived at the end of my street. Sweet DIANE SARGENT ('74?), in the middle, still lives here, too. Always laughing Laural Peterson, round the block a ways...I wanted to be a musician but never made it: we used to hang out in Hollywood alot: glam-rock days with fake IDs, so we could go clubbing; easy THEN. i gladly traded my Disney motel-maid summer job for a Part Time fashion design-sew gig at a glam-punk boutique up there: lead to my 15 min of fame in that realm, a few years later. lol. almost went the way of communing with Calvary Chapel Youths (later i would study for years with their radio show and Church locations), but that "under-other-world called loudly!".lol. Jackie, Betty, Richard Lucas were close friends,NIKI, and LAURAL PETERSON, LYNDA LUIPPOLD,DEBBIE HUGHES ('72),and many more lovely friends, but so sorry, the names are fading. ASTRID was in all the "smart clubs" and knew many people well, but i was new and more shy: except with my wardrobe! ASTRID and LAURAL were known for their wearing many beautiful antique dresses, remember? ASTRID and I were among the first wave in the city to graduate in JAN., instead of JUNE, by taking some college night classes, prior. We wore sun-reflecting/blinding green & pink lamè outfits to school that last, HOT, semester day in JAN. '73!! ANYBODY recall JEANS WEST? Me and DEBBIE HUGHES worked there, from JAN-JUNE 1973: LINCOLN & EUCLID. ASTRID and I showed up at GRAD ceremonies in JUNE,in a hired LIMO, and my parents were outraged i would "put on the dog, so" and refused to attend!!.man!. lol. """..girls just wanna have fun"""...not showin' off! Thereafter everybody did this stuff! But we were trying to THINK AHEAD: We DID want to buy "our-first-car" TOGETHER (we have always been 'straight', but who cares?), so we could have it as part of an investment tool: pool the combined $$$ BOTH OUR parents had planned for us for a car, to get THAT Rolls Royce, a 1955 fully restored model: IT WAS A STEAL! but they didn't go for it. i unwisely ended up buying a jalopy to get me to SEATTLE, in the fall after grad: i fell in love when i visited an old friend there in June. After 2 years of struggling, I returned to live "at home" and go to Fullerton College: fashion design and cosmetology. Attended a reunion with Debbie Huges, but mine or hers?('83 or '82?)..moved around the OC, mostly self-employed, till age 29, met, married, moved to OSLO, Norway, for 12 yrs., had 2 kids, divorced, moved back to OC, moved to Florida (1 yr: enuf!) to meet the worst hurricane season ever, returned to OC: My two teens now attend OCC....
