April's Story
Life
Happily married to my wonderful husband, Dave. We have 3 children. I was gone from the tri-state area for 10 years. I moved back so that my children could be around their grandparents. I swore that I would never move back to Evansville, but having children changes one's perspective.
College
I didn't go to college after high school. I joined the Air Force when I was 17 and left for basic training 36 hours after graduation. I did begin taking classes part time after my daughter was born in 1993. I attended 1/2 time while working full time and raising a family. I finished my Bachelor's at USI after I got out of the Air Force.
Workplace
Myfirst "real" job was at Wesselman's in Newburgh. I worked at Mazzio's pizza for about 2 weeks until I was hired at Great Scot on Green River Rd. I worked at Great Scot until I left for the Air Force, which happened to be 36 hours after graduation. I served 10 years in the Air Force- stationed temporarily...Expand for more
and permanently in San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO; Mountain Home, ID; Upper Heyford, United Kingdom; Clovis, NM; Las Vegas, NV; Incirlik, Turkey; Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia; and the Azores (island belonging to Portugal). I met my husband while stationed in Clovis, NM. We worked in the same Squadron. He was also Air Force. We have been married for over 13 years. After the Air Force, I moved back to Evansville and worked at USI for approximately 4 years, and I now work at Westech Fence in Mt. Vernon as a Customer Service Rep.
Military
