Ardell's Story
Well, is it even possible that I graduated from John Marshall High School 42 years ago?? Is that even possible? I guess it is.
After Marshall I attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison & Milwaukee for a number of years. Fantastic Time!! Was there anything better than the 60's? (Of course there was, but it really was a great backdrop for us coming of age).
After school I moved to Chicago in 1972 & began my career in cosmetic sales, PR & training. It seemed to be a natural fit & this should come as no surprise to those of you who remember me from Marshall.
After a short marriage & divorce in 1976, I met & married my husband, Nate in 1982. We lived for a while in Southern California, but couldn't wait to get back to the midwest, (actually, Nate could have waited, ...Expand for more
I couldn't), & have been in the Chicago area for the past 25 years. We have a son, Seth who has just completed his Sophmore year at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He has always been the light in our lives.
Now that we have become "empty nesters", I have rediscovered some passions that I apparently forgot about along the way. I enjoy cooking, especially for the people I love. I like gardening, walking, reading, traveling, spending casual evenings with friends & family & just "hanging out".
I have great memories of my years at Marshall. I realize that sometimes memories get sweeter with time, but I do remember the experience happily. I made some wonderful, lifelong friends there. Friends, I'm happy to say, I still see on a regular basis.
