Arleen's Story

Hello Everyone, well this is Arleen. It's been a long time and boy have the years flown by. My life has changed in so many ways, The ups the downs and then there was the all around joys, trials and tribulations of life that make us who we are today. I was married at 16 to Russell Downey. We had five beautiful children that I ended up raising on my own after he decided that marriage and children weren't for him. We traveled as my career as a traveling nurse took us to many interesting and new places. My children of course are all grown now and I am still single, have 19 grandchildren and am starting a new career. That sounds terrifying at my age to be embarki...Expand for more
ng on such an adventure but I refuse to settle into old age gracefully and feel I have a lot left in me I can offer the world. I am currently living back in Merced where I will remain to be close to my mother and family. I recently lost my father and grandson and have realized how precious life is.The old saying would you live your life different if you knew then what you know now and I used to say I definitely would but then it is all the experiences that we live through daily that makes us who we are so on that point I am not so sure. One thing is I would probably do things a little different but would not want to change how my life or my family is today.
