Arlene's Story
Life
I married right after high school. Big mistake-- so I had to undo that while I was at UC Berkeley studying music. I met a wonderful friend in the orchestra at UC after my divorce. His dad, who was an MD, gave me a job in his office. I really enjoyed it, so I went to nursing school. While in nursing school I met my second husband. I finished nursing school and got a job at my local hospital. Then in 1980 I had my first child, a wonderful son. By 1982 I was getting restless, wanting to go back to school so I entered law school. After graduation, I had a really interesting law firm position for a while and then I became an in-house hospital atty. In 1988 I had my second child, a wonderful, but sometimes challenging, daughter. She is my talented musician. I wanted to stay home with her after she was born, so I started a consulting business from home and that's what I am still doing ...Expand for more
professionally. By the way, husband #2 and I separated in there somewhere. My son got married to a wonderful woman who has a darling little girl who became my first granddaughter. She is six and I take care of her when her parents work. Just a week ago, on 1/30/04, they had their first child together, a darling baby girl named Elise Arlene. I am in heaven with my children and grandchildren. My health is good; I try to work out when I'm not to busy. I have to get really serious soon so I just began a new workout routine. Oh--I also teach at Cal State Hayward occasionally on Saturdays. I teach nurses about law. I also wrote two chapters in a book on the same subject. One thing I have been trying to have more time to do is scrapbooking!! I need to preserve these memories. I need to find all my pictures from Bayshore!! Such a wonderful, happy neighborhood. Well, that's about enough of me.
