Arlene's Story
When I left High School in 1957 I moved upstate and have been here ever since. After my children were born I went to college and became a teacher in 1974....I retired in 2001 from a profession I worked in with a passion. I am since on the Board of Education in this same district, and my daughter has been teaching there for years now. I am a grandmother who fights age with many activities such as aerobics, zumba, aquatics and never lost my love for dancing. I have performed in 2 shows in our local Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop, one being Fiddler, in which I played Yenta. I have close contact with some of the dear friends I made while in Lane. WHERE HAVE THE YEARS GONE??
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea idea. As it turns out, they were right.
Reading, watching T.V. and going to the gym.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have direction, interest, and COFFEE to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My parents were always my heroes, and I have added my husband to that list. My inspiration comes from th...Expand for more
e values I was taught about honesty, compassion and determination.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Loretta Martz, because of her genuine class..
Love dancing and the gym; walking....used to play tennis many years ago.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel it completely and add on a pool. My dream home would be in California.
I've learned that deep values do penetrate their lives even when you thought while teaching them that they didn't hear you!!!! I've learned that being honest gives them the values of trust and love.
If I won $100 million, I'd give most of it to our families, then spend the rest on doing things, we were never able to do before and certainly buying my husband a deluxe boat..
Never.
My current age is 71. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be extremely old. I was so completely wrong.
Retired...always had a love for education and pursue this in my role as a Board of Education Trustee. I did always want to write a book, but haven't motivated myself to do so. Writing is a love of mine...especially poetry.
