Armando Cepeda:  

Life Biography: ARMANDO CEPEDA-Artist/Writer/Peace Activist Armando Cepeda of Yorba Linda, California was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He is the oldest of ten children. His siblings are: Arturo, Saul, Raymond, Ruben, Theresa, Martha, Mario, David and Ricardo. After graduating from Irvin H.S. in 1971, Armando joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Norton AFB in San Bernardino, California. While in the Air Force he attended San Bernardino Valley College and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Biology. He married in 1975. He continued his studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara while raising his family. He worked briefly for the State of California Parks and Recreation Department as a seasonal park ranger at the state beaches of Santa Barbara and also as a teaching assistant in the biology department of Santa Barbara City College. Armando changed careers in 1982 after winning a scholarship to attend the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He began his graphic design career working for NASA at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Over a span of ten years, Armando worked for other aerospace agencies such as Lockheed/Martin. In 1996 Armando received a teaching credential and began teaching design and illustration for the Riverside County Office of Education and at Platt College in Ontario, Ca. He presently teaches at Lincoln High School in Riverside, California and enjoys working with at-risk youth. He was recently selected 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year.
