Arnold's Story

I have been a high school history teacher most of my career. I coached football, basketball and academics. My academic teams went to six different national tournaments in Washington D C and Orlando, Florida representing the state of Oregon. I was once selected as teacher of the year. I have had an adventurous life so far and hope it continues. I have traveled to over sixty countries throughout the world--favorite is New Zealand but I loved Ireland especially the music in the pubs. I very much want to go back to Scotland since I recently found out through DNA that I'm 50% Scottish and related to Rob Roy MacGregor, Robert the Bruce, Robert Stewart II & III Kings of Scotland. I had five ancestors fight at the Battle of Culloden 1746 and as a result escaped to America. The photo is at Depoe Bay, Oregon. I have two children and three grandchildren that I enjoy. t happened to the people I went to school with and if our paths have ever crossed. My email is zhaa22 at yahoo dot com. In 2017, I spent two weeks in Paris and Amsterdam. In 2016, traveled to the Czech Republic and Germany. In 2018, just returned from six weeks in Thailand and Cambodia. Had a great time, put about 2,500 miles on the rental car and visited eight national parks. In September, 2018, I got to cross off the bucket list going to an Ohio State vs Oregon State football game in Columbus where the Buckeyes won. Went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and spent time visiting Chicago with my son. Visited Washington D C in 2019 and spent time with my father who is 93. September 2020, The Oregon fires forced us to evacuate twice. First from Colton, then from Oregon City as the fires advanced. Eventually, found a place west of Dallas, Oregon in the foothills. We moved ten horses, twelve goats, three dogs, five cats, and thirty chickens. All of the animals are now back home after two weeks away. The fire came within a quarter of a mile to the farm.
