Art's Story

Life After Graduating from GCHS, I joined the Navy and served 4 years, mostly (2 1/2 yrs) at NAS San Diego. I was an Aviation Electrician and worked on PBM aircraft. After being discharged in June 1952, I worked at General Steel Castings as a welder until Sept.1953, at which time I started at Shurtleff College in Alton, IL. sferred to Washington University in St Louis, Mo. with a BSBA. During this time I played on the university basketball team. We were quite successfull with a few wins over some Big Ten teams. Upon Graduation, I began a 33 year career at McDonnell Douglas and retired in June 1990. My wife and I immediately moved to Sarasota, FL where we reside today.
