Arthur's Story
I attended grade school at Briarwood elementary, Jefferson Junior High and then Wilcox High, I left school and joined the Navy. I completed my education during my first two years in the Navy and then went on to college.
I retired from the Navy as an E-9 (Master Chief)and completing twenty two years of service. While in the Navy I traveled extensevly and manage to stay single for about ten years. I date off and on with a girl that I knew since Junior High and High School (Susan Valencia); We were married and divorced with-in a year. Two years later, met someone new; married and divorced five years later. Finally I met and married the right women; we've been married now for thirty-four years. We only had one child between us, a baby girl, we named her Maria after my oldest sister. Sandy had four daughter from a previous marriage; their names are Candice,Kimberley,Sandra and Barbe; which I raised as my own.
I was very lucky that Sandy's X was completely out of the picture. (It made things so much easier). We lived on the Naval base at Lemoore Naval Air Station for two years and then transferred to a ship out of San Diego California. We were their for three and a half years; I Retired from the Navy in February of 1987. We moved to Hanford Calif. Hanford; a small town located in the Central Vally 30 miles south of Fresno Ca. I started working for the Department of Corrections and did so for the next 22.5 years. I worled for three adult prisons and one Juvenile Youth Authority institution. I worked at the adult prisons for fourteen years. I was offered a position as Officer in charge of the Food Service Department at the Northern California Youth Correctional Center in Stockton Ca. Which meant we had to move from Hanford;selling our home and move to Stockton.

ty eight hundred wards at four separate Juvenal Facilities. I had seventy-five food service staff and two secretaries. I traveled extensivly for the State and met a lot of interesting people.
A year prior to deciding to retire, Sandy wanted to move back to Hanford; where; where most of our daughters and grandchildren live. So in April 2008 we bought a home in Hanford.
My life has been good and bad, 99% good since I meet Sandy. She has been my rock and the best thing that ever happened to me. I can't say I've been the best husband. I've given her some bad times; but she has stuck by my side and made me a better person. Two of my girls are RN's, two are managers at Department stores; one at Wall Mart in Oregon and the other is a manager at an Old Navy Department store here in Hanford and one is a home maker.
We've been blessed with 13 grandchildren with the youngest daughter expecting her first child in January 2010. (on December 18 our youngest daughter and son-in-law lost their baby boy at birth. His Name was Benjamin Lawrence Trine. He will surly be missed!
It was a difficult decision whether or not to retire. I really enjoy working; however with the way things were going with the State I decided it would be in my best interest to retire.
My wife and I enjoys fishing (her mostly) I really enjoy woodworking. I"m not a professional at all, but I get a lot of pleasure out of it. My wife loves being around water. (Put her near water and she's one happy camper).
I believe I said enough; hopefully I didn't bore anyone. If anyone would like to get in touch with me by phone or e-mail your more then welcome to. My cell number is (209) 337-5002.
Would love to hear from all my school friends!
In October 2015, bought a home in Seattle Washington. We kept our home in Hanford, and rented. Life in Seattle far different then living in Hanford.
