Arthur's Story

graduated widefield hs 1962 began college at adams state in alamosa didn't work out. went to fresno california, attended fresno city college graduated with aa in 1966 entered navy spent 2 years over seas. returned home. worked for the state of california for awhile then started a small business. in 1976 i returned to colorado. ran another business that eventually evolved into a restaurant with catering...now retired. live in my basement in greeley colorado.. read alot. write some. collect music boxes, cookie jars, comics, bottle caps....li...Expand for more
sten to music. almost never play the horn anymore but appreciate the decent health i enjoy. drive an s10-4 wheel drive black pick-up---walk/jog 4 to 5 times a week......longest walk to date was to eaton and back. 19+ miles in the hot sun. my dream adventure is to walk to canon city and back. may never happen but still something i look forward to. (400 miles round trip) conservative republican. Christian.....really enjoyed high school and miss the kids i grew up with. miss baseball and music...glad i live in america (me and ray charles)....

painting is complete, ramp is on...starting to land scape..one drip edge on the roof but a lot to do yet to finish the roof then the project is done. well, still need to put a pegboard inside and a shelf. then it is done.
just need to paint the trim on the back side and north side and base and the painting is done. basically, this is how the whole thing will look......except for the ramp and landscaping.
i think day 13. lost a few days to rain, pain and family...framing is done, trim is on and the front face painted the bright lime and white trim paint.. found out my roofing material is delayed until aug 7th. so i will pai
ok...door hanging, trim started, some paint to see what it will look like..need to finish trim, put on lock, paint.....peg board and shelves inside and start water proofing, papering and tiling the roof. oh, and build ramp
finally. all done framing. monday i'll try to get the door done and hanging...a basic coat of paint, caulking then trim it out and paint the trim. then at last, finish the roof. seal, water proof, paper, drip edges and roll

ok...the first wall with16 inch centers is done..tomorrow, put it up and start the next wall....i'll keep you posted on the material cost. so far $130
day 4....second wall finished...tricky putting up the first wall by myself....total cost now $160
day 6....had to cut the tree back. 3 walls ready to set up tomorrow. $190 total cost todate. 7 eight foot posts for the floor. work the ground until it is solid and perfectly level..2 sheets of 3/4 inch of plywood nailed t
day 7....3 walls up....tomorrow the studs for the roof...woops....got ahead of my self....tomorrow the face of the shed and then the rafters......
day 8...the shed is framed out and the rafters are set. and amazingly, everything is square and level.....now i need a day off to let my old body recover. then, day after tomorrow i'll pick up 11 sheets of plywood to cove
ok...been to lowes, picked up the plywood. unloaded the pickup and carried it to the back yard. so this is a picture of me on my last legs.....(mary behind the camera) in about 30 minutes i'll get started again with the shed
day 9 or 10 or maybe19.....i think i'm delirious from the heat (90's) this is it for the day....try again tomorrow. total cost now$450
day 11....3 walls up. middle section of roof is on. tomorrow (if my tylenol supply holds up) i'll try to finish the last 2 sections of the roof and get started on the front wall. the 2 sections on either side of the doorway
ok...finished cutting and fixing the roof in place......and completed one side of the front wall......hit it again tomorrow, Lord willing.. total cost todate $540
