Arthur's Story
Life
Right after high school I joined the Air Force and you can see my career in the classmates.com military section. After I left active duty in 1969, I went into freight transportation management for 16 years with assignments in Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, Miami again and Houson. In 1985 I, moved back to Miami and changed careers again selling office products to commercial accounts until 1992 when I started my own business selling imprinted sportswear to commercial accounts in south Dade County.
In August of that year Hurricane Andrew destroyed my home, my business and my client base. But State Farm treated us very well and we made a nice recovery. Five months later my wife took early retirement and we moved to Tampa where I operate a souvenir shop (Ar...Expand for more
t's Militaria) in the base exchange at MacDill AFB.
In April 2005, I began listing some of my wares at auction on eBay and a month later I opened an eBay store where I now have over 3000 litem items in inventory. We closed the store at MacDill in of mid-April 2006. We are now selling through our eBay store and from our website which is artsmilitaria dot com.
I have a daughter and two sons from my first marriage and two step-daughters from my marriage to my wonderful wife Betty. We have only one grandchild, Heather, who was born in 1989. My hobby is collecting tapes of old time radio shows. Memories of days at old Edison are great but what we do in the here and now are important because here and now is where we can make a positive contribution.
