Arthur's Story
Life
I'm healthy and happy.
I am a Christian and I have been blessed with a wonderful family and wonderful friends that I value very much.
God has watched over me these many years and I've had a simple but wonderful life.
First a little history.
I left Westlake a week after graduation and moved to Atlanta, GA. I went to work for Southern Company which is the holding company for GA, AL, MI & Gulf power companies. They've added a few more since then. I worked there 22 years. During that time I attended college at night but never finished. When Southern Co. offered everyone in our division a buy out I took it and went to work for BellSouth.net. They were just starting their internet service company. I've been with them for about 10 years now. After a few years of being a network engineer I am now a manager over a group of network engineers that provision business internet services to companies.
I married Julie in 1980 and we have 2 sons, Craig 22 and Aaron 20. Both are in college. They have good hearts and are good sons. They are honor students (since you know me from high school you know that they get this from their mother). They are both very artsey and very talented men. urope with them, he has his own band that perfroms all over our area at small clubs and colleges. He writes the music for his band.
Aaron's main interest is acting but I don't believe that he'll be pursuing that for a career. He has a very keen wit.
My main hobbies are horses and art. Horses are more my passion than a hobby. I train my own horses and have bred and raised a few over the years. I used to show but now I just enjoy trail riding. I've had Arabs, QH but now we own and ride Tenn. Walkers. My wife and I love to trail ride and camp with our friends.
I used to do a good bit of art work both for fun and profit but when I started spending my time with the horses I put that on the back burner. i am now using my art skills doing leather work (no Bob not that kind!). I started a couple of years ago doing some small items for my friends and I now have recently started to make saddles. I had the opportunity to study with and make friends with a master saddle maker who has taught me a great deal. I am now also selling some of the items that I make. I find that both the horses and my leather work are very relaxing.
I am fortuate that my wife also enjoys riding. We get to spend a great deal of time together because of this hobby that we share. We are very much in love, even more than we were when we married 26 years ago.
