Beverly's Story
I currently live in Rockford, Illinois where I close to my three sons (Chris, Greg and Tim), two daughters-in-law (Jacky and Shelby), and twin grand daughters (Emerson Elizabeth Ashley Broyles and Josephine Olivia Kiernan Broyles - whew!), grandson Nathaniel Sullivan John Broyles, and granddaughter Shaeleigh Rose Broyles. After graduating from San Lorenzo High School I attended and graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Art. After working for several years as a children's book illustrator I married my husband Gerry and moved to Eugene, Oregon; Fremont, California; Marlow-on-Thames, England; Concord, Massachusetts; Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Kennebunkport, Maine. I received my Master's Degree in Art Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Go Vols!) and since that time have been working in the Art...Expand for more
s Management field. I have been the General Manager of the Oak Ridge Community Playhouse, the Curator of Education and Director of Public Programs at the Knoxville Museum of Art, the Executive Director of the Johnson Hall Center for the Performing Arts, the Director of Education for the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, the Executive Director of the River Tree Center for the Arts, and now am the Executive Director of Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and Gardens in Rockford, Illinois.
In doing all of these jobs in all of these locations, what I have loved the most is raising my three sons, having two beautiful grandchildren, playing golf and staying in touch with my friends! I have been a widow for five years.
My memories of my years at San Lorenzo High remain clear and bright! I treasure those precious fun and friend filled years!
