Atana Walker:

CLASS OF 1998
Lingle, WY

Atana's Story

Life Well, I haven't really done too much. . . yet. When I left Lingle the second time I went to Douglas where I graduated. I met a wonderful man and we are married today. I attended college in Norfolk, NE for a year and maintained a long distance relationship with Nate the whole time. One thing I accomplished while I was in Nebraska was I entered a scholarship program/beauty pageant and got first runner-up for Miss Nebraska. I decided I couldn't live without Nate so I moved back to Wyoming. (We got married June 3, 2006) Right after I moved back to Wyoming I worked at Sears and attended Casper College. After our 3 year dating anniversary I found out I was going to have a baby. Ryan was born in February, 2001. He is now 7 years old. He is a bundle of energy. I like to say that he is what keeps me young. He loves singing and drawing. He's going to be on Broadway some day. . . I just know it! I stopped taking college courses after I had Ryan and have never gotten back into it. Sometimes I kick myself in the ass for it, but I figure my kids are only little once and this is the only time they are going to need me around, so I may as well take advantage of it. After I had Ryan I went to work as a sales secretary...Expand for more
at the Parkway Plaza Hotel for 2 years. I wish I could get those two years back. . . what a waste. Then I went to work for Casper Orthopaedics. . . I was going to school for a degree in Physical Therapy, so this was my dream job. I worked there for two years. In November, 2004 I gave birth to my daughter, Kaitlyn, who is the apple of my eye. She is a little spitfire, let me tell you. I couldn't bare the thought of leaving both kids in daycare all day (neither could my pocketbook) so I became a stay at home mom and opened up a daycare of my own. Sometimes I think I must be out of my mind, but in the long run it is worth it to be home with my kids. Audrey, my second daughter. . . 3rd (and final) child, was born in December, 2006. She is the spitting image of her older brother. My life now is all about my family. I'm sure I'll go back to school one day, but until then I'm enjoying life to the fullest being with my children. Right now I am persuing a degree in medical transcription so I can still stay home with the kids and make some sort of income, as I have "hung them up" on the daycare bit. Two long years of that is plenty. It was good for the pocket book, bad for the nerve endings. Anyway. . . life is good.
