Workplace
I work at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. I am a Dietary Supervisor, and have been working there for 25 years. I love my job, and the people that I work with. We actually have the best food in town. No Kidding. My waistline proves it. When I started in 1980 at the hospital, they had me work as a Diet Aide, that lasted about 6 months, and then I was asked if I would like to learn to cook. nt cook for about 7 years, and then they had me train to a variety of other cook positions, even baking. So then after I learned how to do the baking, they had me start the baking full time. I baked for 11 years, and I loved it. I saw that there was going to be a management position open, and so I put in for it. A lot different than cooking and baking. People skills are needed, and what a lot of responsibilities there are. I love the challenges that come my way. I never walk into the same day ever.
