Audrey's Story

Life has been exceptionally good for you and I am so truly appreciative! Audrey (aka Audie) [Kalal]Lerman has been married to Bob Lerman(CPHS S'52) since 1956 and they have four children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Currently living in Oregon, and retired. She and her husband Bob have been married for over 53 years and have traveled extensively for over 47 years in their various RV's, hitting all 50 states and have also traveled aboard to Europe, UK, Russia, Poland; also to Fuji, Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. On September 26, 2009, Bob passed away quickly, in some pain. Bob was the absolute best husband, lover, friend, confidant, card/game player, endless sense of humor, traveler, Mr. Fix-It, father, grandfather, friend. We loved every minute in our 53-½ years together. We had a blessed marriage and I miss him terribly -- there will never be another BOB. Rest in peace alwaysmy darling. I always wanted to be a wife/mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were so right!. I blow off steam usually by crying. My favorite way to relax in being with family/friends and my dog, Susie Q (a Chiweinie -- half Chihuahua and half doxie). The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my husband, Bob and my parents, because as I loved them so much. If I won $100 million, I'd give majority of it to my kids, grandchildren & great grandchildren, my church, and favorite charities, then spend the rest on a round the world cruise, a photographic safari and enough money in the bank to never have to worry about finances again.. My current age is 79. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be long gone, passed away. I was so completely wrong. I have so much living yet to do. I intend to live to be over 100 years old. My mother died at 91 years and my father died at 89 years, so longevity is certainly in my genes! I do not dress my age. I like to keep current in styles, my attitude is of someone much younger. Age does not both...Expand for more
er me. I have accomplished a great deal in my life and am proud of my accomplishments. Our oldest child, Rob, got married to the lovely Linda on what would have been our 60th wedding anniversary, August 4th. They did that on purchase. I have a granddaughter who was also born on August 4. My youngest great-grandson was also born on August 4th (2016), August 4th is a very special day for the Lerman family and I am very proud and thrilled. I share my home with my dog Susie Q, which I find comforting, plus she makes me laugh a lot. In the fall of 2012, I went on a Panama Canal from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego for over 2 weeks. I went with a lady friend whom I met in a grief class. Her husband died 3 months after my husband. We both wanted to do the cruise in honor of our respective husbands. My Bob was a builder and Linn's husband was an engineer. We thought we would see the Panama Canal through our husbands eyes and we know that they will be viewing it through our eyes. It was an exciting cruise for both of us, very beautiful and so educational. We cruised with Celebrity Cruises and were pampered royally. I photographed the cruise and added it to my collection of family vacations. I am went on another cruise starting Mother's Day in 2014 with 7 other gals (all widows). We cruised up to Alaska for 7 days and then another 7 days exploring Anchorage, Fairbanks and my most exciting place to see (on my bucket list) was Denali National Park and the surrounding area. We had a ball traveling together and even got to see Mt. McKinley in all its' glory! Only 20% of tourists actually get to see Mt. McKinley without it being all clouded over. I stay very busy in the community where I live with volunteering, church, and my card/game playing. I live in a very small town, Florence, but I do keep busy and involved. I always welcome seeing my classmates so if you are ever on the central coast of Oregon, please give me a call and come and visit. I am listed in the local telephone book under "Bob & Audrey Lerman". Come See Me!
