Audrey's Story
October 26th, 2008
I just returned to Florida from Nashville Tenn.
The National Learning Congress for Organ Donation and Transplantation was in session.
It is where great people from all over the country collaborate to help increase awareness for Organ Donation.
Currently there are over 100,000 people in our country waiting for some kind of tranplant- kidney, heart, lungs, etc...
Everyone- this is incredibly important!
PLEASE!!! SIGN UP TO BE AN ORGAN DONOR.
Did you know that one person can help several?!
It is my wish for when I am gone, to live on through another!
I witnessed the testimony of a mother that lost her son by a MVC. Both families were there this weekend. (Donor family and receipient) There was not a dry eye in the session as they shared their stories. ...Expand for more
(You may have seen this same mother on Extreme Home Makeovers.)
The (donors') mother was going to listen to Rachel's heart this weekend- the very same organ donated by her child after he died in the car crash. They are all family now and her child lives on thru another.
It is as easy as saying," YES" on your drivers license.
As you have probably guessed by now... Yes- I work in this field.
I am a HPR Coordinator - Hospital and Professional Relations Coordinator.
For our Region in central Florida, TransLife has 40 hospitals and I personally work with 9. The trauma hospital in my area is where I am actually the "In-house" coordinator. I am there 5 days a week and visit the other facilites.
If you would like to know more, drop me a note.
Thank you and God Bless.
