Augustas's Story
I received my drivers license when I was sixteen.My parents had about I block of vacant land.At the young age of 8 I would wash my fathers car every weekend,each time that I would wash the car I would experiment little by little first with the lights then the hand brake,starting the car and before you know it I was driving down the dirt road.At one time the customers in my fathers store ran out frantically because they thought the car was moving ny itself,and when they opened the car door there I was nearly able to see over the dashboard.from then on I was driving every weekend.The car was a1950 Desoto with fluid drive(three gears with a clutch)So after years of driving of course I would take it for a spin down the side roads hitting about 30 to 40 mph without no one knowing.through the years I. was saving up for my first car.However when I turned 16 I had a change of mind and almost bought a 360cc Honda motorcycle,but bought my first car a a Nash Rambler 1949 convertible for 50 bucks.It needed alot of work and that's when I started to learn the mechanics of cars.I blew the engine afte...Expand for more
r 18 months.Once in a blue moon I still see that model on the road or in car shows and brings back great memories.When I graduated from Eron I departed for Athens,Greece to attend college and medical school after learning the language. I met a lot of interesting people from all over the world.Being from N.Y people wanted to know you.I've partied with ambassadors, Presidents ,world renound models,shipping magnets etc.sometimes I wonder why I came back,but I'm glad I did because that when I met the love of my llife,my wife of 35 years.I work my first job Joint Disease Hospital ,at that time on 125 th street .That was my surgical internship and was sent to Mt.Sinai for 6 months.I left and did Family Medicine at Jamaica Hospital for 3 years because I always wanted to be a Family Doc.I work in the Emergency room in JamaIca for the next4 yrs.I finally had enough Capital and opened our private practice in Long Island. I am an attending at a University Hospital and Associate Professor of Family Medicine.Life has been very good to me and I'm lucky to love what I do and I don't see retirement in the near future.
