Austa's Story
After high school, I moved to Eau Claire, WI-Left WI in 1977 and traveled to North Carolina. Met 1st husband at Fort Bragg (he was in Army)-had 3 wonderful girls-raised the girls. When girl #3 started kindergaten, I went to work at a workshop for the Mentally & Physically Handicapped Adults. Separated from husband after 17 yrs. irls. Met 2nd husband in 1997, married him in 1998. I moved to Virginia, continued to work for the center until 2007,in which I appied to the state as a Corrections Officer at a male prison just 3.5 miles from home. I have 5 grandchildren now and A very wonderful life.
Since this was posted, I now have 6 grandchildren, am widowed and moved back to Wisconsin.
