Avia's Story
Avia (Peggy Pretzer) is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I graduated from Widefield High School in 1971. Later, I attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and got my bachelors degree (Geography and Environmental Studies) and then immediately went on to attain a masters in geography. After a few years past, I went back to UCCS and got a masters in space science. I have worked at a variety of government agencies, but now I enjoy teaching geology and astronomy at the college in Pueblo, Colorado where I have been for the past 13 years. t Mountains where I have resided since 1987. I have done extensive traveling and I enjoy photography, sculpting, drawing and plan on painting in the next few months. I am presently working on finishing my fine art degree that I started in 1998. I love all genres of music and I attend concerts whenever possible. I love being in nature and digging on my claims for gemstones and minerals. I show and sell my "finds" at rock and mineral shows during the months I'm not teaching.
