Barbara's Story
Hello, I've been married to Zach Andersen from Iowa since 1981. I have 3 sons and 1 daughter. Also, five grandchildren. We homeschooled all of our children. Our claim to fame is that we spent 2 1/2-3 years living on our land in an 18x30 tent and built our home 5 miles outside of Buena Vista, Colorado. It was a great adventure with the three little boys and I got pregnant during that time with our daughter! My husband has always wanted to move to Alaska and I had spray painted a rock gold and wrote "Alaska or bust" on it for his birthday and he set it on his nightstand. In 1999, he put it into his jeans' pocket and carried it around everyday. Finally, in 2001, we decided to visit Alaska. We got back to Colorado, looked at each other and said, "If we don;t just sell it all and go , we will never know if we had the guts to ever do it."..so WE DID. ree little girls. I still teach/coach gymnastics and love doing it! In 2014 I finally retired from coaching and passed the baton to my daughter who does an excellent job. She also is a silks aerialist and dancer. We have a seasonal guest cabin that we rent each summer behind our home and I also work from my home as a seamstress. (some of you may remember that I used to sew my own clothes in jr. hi/high school) My husband is still working in the mines, currently the largest silver producing mine in North America. I got involved in politics a couple years ago and have not stopped questioning and holding these guys accountable. I work with grassroots Americans preserving our Constitutional rights and continue spreading the news that it is okay to think for yourself, speak up and ask questions! Ha ha...still the same, basically! Have a fun day. I appreciate you guys and think about PCHS every so often and smile. Oh, I almost forgot, our family raised labrador retrievers for awhile in Buena Vista and now we still have one awesome female black lab and 3 sweet cats. Also have included chickens in the last two years! Absolutely loving it! Thanks for stopping in to read my story.
