Barbara's Story
My Life....
This is probably my least favorite part of signing up on any website. I've done so much writing about me (marketing)that I hesitate and procrastinate doing anymore! Just Google me and see what I mean. My career, as a Realtor, has been fun, My Lifesatisfying, financially rewarding and, in the last two (2) years, frightening! Because of the state of the real estate market I began a new Property Management business in late 2009, and am planning to open another business, Home Staging, by the end of 2010, to diversify my portfolio and create additional avenues for income. All of this keeps me extremely busy, ALL THE TIME! At my age I should be slowing down a bit but, believe it or not, I am a total Type A personality, always thinking, driven to destruction (mine), rarely sleeping, forever planing for and educating myself constantly in the next project I want to pursue before I get the other two off the ground. I pride myself in being an extremely intelligent and successful business woman and the best at everything I do! I love this career choice, and although the market hasn't been great in the last couple of years, it is improving slowly but surely. I have a great business partner who helps me tremendously but I don't know how she puts up with me! Honestly, I mean it!
My life has been "interesting" since high school!. In fact, it has been so different than I am sure most of you ever imagined. It has been challenging to say the least. I have a lifetime of stories but I won't bore you with all the details just the high points.
Attended St. Petersburg college in St. Petersburg, Florida and Kent State University in Kent, Ohio a State University. Majored in Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Writing. My ultimate passion is to write at least one book before I die. I currently do a lot of writing assignments, blogs, and professional grants for nonprofit higher education. Practice!
Before leaving Atlanta in the early 1990,s I worked at Emory University as a fundraiser for many years. That job provided me with the skills to become a succes...Expand for more

I have been a Realtor and owner of a Property Management Company for more than a decade. I love my work, all of it, and the education and personal fulfillment it has brought me and others. I am truly blessed! I live a richly remarkable life. Who would have guessed?
In addition to working, I LOVE TO TRAVEL! And, I do so as much as I possibly can. I particularly love Europe! I have been truly blessed to have been so many wonderful places. New Orleans (before Katrina), was lots of fun.!Hawaii which is just a tropical paradise beyond anything I had imagined. New York, specifically Manhattan, right in Times Square, which was so much more than I could take-in. I visited most of the typical tourist sites, saw a few "famous" people, saw Broadway plays, at, Sardis and Tavern on the Green!. . Most importantly, I received the most romantic marriage proposal,in Central Park, at the Bethesda Fountain, from my then and current partner of sixteen (16+) years. It was all incredible. !However, I wanted a long engagement and I am happy with my life just as it is so, I am not making any wedding plans yet, maybe when I am sixty (60)!
In addition, we spent two fabulous weeks in Italy (lifelong dream for me) traveled to Milan, Venice, Rome, Tuscany, Capri and Ana Capri, the gorgeous Amalfi Coast, Minori, Naples, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, and front there there I spent two (2) days in Sicily before coming back to the states. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND anyone who has the opportunity to visit Italy to go at least once. I so loved everything about it I am constantly planning my next trip and hope someday soon to purchase a villa on the Amalfi Coast, go there at least once a year and someday, when I finally slow down, to retire it will be there. It's just a dream but one I hope will become my reality in the next decade.
Thanks to all of you who have signed my guest book, sent emails, and notes. I have been overwhelmed by your kindness and so happy to hear from you. Please keep in touch and I will try to do the same.
