Barbara's Story
School
Some of the things I liked about school was being part of the Glee Club and the band. I loved to dance (still do) and had a blast at the weekend dances at the gym. I can still remember exactly where I was sitting when the announcement came over the loud speaker that JFK had just been shot and then that he died. For the most part, I think my high school days were a lot of fun.
Workplace
Almost all my jobs have been secretarial, bookkeeping/accounting. For 7 years, I was a licensed insurance agent. My most fun and rewarding job was as a church secretary. I was there for 17 years.

school was to join the Air Force and travel, I never did. Instead, I fell in love and married Robert Bennett. (While in WV, everyone called Robert JoJo, but now he goes by Bob). A year later, our son Michael was born. Bob was drafted into the Army and while we were expecting our second child, he was sent to Viet Nam. After his return home, we moved to Maryland. In October of 2007, we both retired and moved to North Carolina. We love living here and retirement is awesome.
We have two grandchildren. Cody, who is 19, lives with us and has since his birth. Our other grandson, Dagon, is 9 and lives with his mom (our daughter Michele).
