Barbara's Story
Hi Everyone. Maybe I will bring you up to today. I started out as Barbara Jean Brown. Went to Lankershim School, then to NHJHS, then they built Sun Valley Junior High, and from there I went on to NHHS. I went to work and then married the love of my life, Fred Holcombe. He was a Marine and died in a Marine plane crash. He did leave me with a daughter, Debbie. I went back to work and then met Kerry O'Brien. We had two kids, Cara and Mike. I lost Kerry in 2002. I now have six grandchildren and one due in February. One of my grandsons went into the Coast Guard in 2008 and is married and we all love her lots. Now I am retired and live with my daughter. We live in Coarsegold, Ca. and I love the country living. I have lived in Ca., Ok., Ca., New Mexico, Ca.. I have traved to D.C., Hawaii, serval states, Mexico, and gone on a road trip with four friends. I guess that wraps up my life up to now. I love my kids, grandkids, animals. I love to work in the house and visit people. I belong to the Moose, Grandmothers' Club, Red Cross, Grange, Poverla House, and go to EV Free Church. upposed to tell, but now you have me. Of course it also tells you that when I start talking, I don't know enough to stop. But that is what I will do now.

If I won $100 million, I'd give a lot of it to Church, then spend the rest on bills, KIDS and GRANDKIDS.
My current age is 74. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be TEACHING ME. I was so completely RIGHT.
My best friend would tell you I'm GOOD FRIEND, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as HAPPY.
I sort of wear what I want. Fashion was not that important to me. Now my kids keep my clothes in line.
I share my home with daughter #2, which I find different.
In 10 years, I hope to be still here. I'm going to get there by taking care of me.
My oldest friend would be Birdie Ledger Scholl. We met because our Dads went to school together.
My first job was at Occidental, where I got paid cheap to file. What I remember most about it is I loved it and I met good friends.
My new granddaughter Chloe was born 2/14/2010. She is very pretty and a very calm baby.
