Life I am married to a wonderful man for the past 31 years. We have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 daughter. We have 6 grandchildren, 6 girls and 3 boys. We are raising our grandson who is the light of our life. My mother is now living with us since my father passed away. Both of my parents have since passed on. We have lived in Portales, NM since 1989 and I am sure we will be here for a long time. Our 3 boys were all in the Army and were in Iraq together when the Iraq war broke out. They each have returned to Iraq several times. School I enjoyed my high school career and the only regret that I have is that I have lost contact of my friends. There is only one person that I have stayed in touch with over the years and that is Patricia Alberts. We are planning on visiting her this summer if all goes well with my mother. College I did not start college until our youngest began kindergarten. When Eric started kindergarten that's when I started college. At first, I was unsure as to what to major in then through encouragement and lots of prayer I decided to go for a teaching degree. I completed my elementary degree in 1992 and graduated with honors. Then went back and got a degree in Special Education. I began teaching in an elementary school in Clovis, NM which is 35 minutes north of Portales. Then In September 1994 I transfered to Clovis High School and remained there for 10 years. Then in 2004 I secured a job at Portales High School and have been there ever since.
