Barbara's Story
I'm still doing more than one thing at a time -- I'm a Hollywood script consultant (for 20 years) and also a personal development author/ teacher/ hypnotherapist / life coach (for 10 years).
I quit college after one semester and went to work for WTTW, then for a Chicago talent agency, then a documentary film company. Finally came out to Hollywood. Been here ever since -- I've been trying to leave for 20 years (it IS Hotel California - you can check in but you can never leave...).
I switch gears between reading scripts and books for top Hollywood cable movie and film companies, consulting on scripts to writers and producers, and working with individuals and groups as a life coach / hypnotherapist. My life's all about stories -- true life stories (individuals) and fictional stories (scripts/books) designed to help people live their lives better. Glad I always liked English class and making up stories as I get paid now to read, speak to groups and make up stories (hypnosis and imagery suggestions) with my hypno-coaching clients to reprogram their minds from the inside out.

hypnosis website is HypnoSynergy.com. I will have a soul-coaching site up in the fall the fall (YourLifeandSoul.com). Also have a blog for screenwriters -- HypnoPitch.com. I've worked with computers since 1977 but am just getting into blogging and social networking. Too much to do, too little time!
I've been married 30 years to Glenn Schiffman, a great guy, also a writer and spiritual counselor. He used to live in Chicago as a kid but we met in LA when I took a job (briefly) for Kenny Loggins' manager as he worked with them and was using their office when I worked there. Our daughter Risa (29) is a nurse and an environmental educator (she's the best -- and worst -- of both of us). She just got engaged to a great guy who's also a nurse and environmentalist (he reminds me of Glenn in a good way).
I'd love to connect with other Senn alumni in LA. I used to attend meetings of CITI (Chicagoans in the Industry) for ex-Chicagoans who now work in showbiz in LA. They stopped meeting for awhile but have just started up again.
As you can see, I like to write... Write me back...
