Barbara's Story
Quick version of my story since high school.
Went to Mercer County College as an art major 1971-1972.
Ran away to Ithace NY 1972-1973.
Came back to Pennington and got a job with Mainstem Corp in Princeton. 1973-1974.
Moved to Rosemont, NJ 1974-1976.
Ran away to Breckenridge Co where I worked for the Breckenridge Ski Area 1976-1983.
Moved back east to Yardley Pa and worked in downtown Manhattan for Merrill Lynch in the payroll dept. 1983-1985.
Moved to Easton Pa and continued to work for Merrill Lynch but in Princeton (Forrestal Campus) 1985-1989.
Moved to Lumberville, Pa 1987.
Took a position with Johnson and Johnson in Piscataway, NJ 1989.
Completed a degree in Organizational Psychology from Moravian College 1992.
Was "downsized" from J&J so moved to Condon, MT 1995 (bought a cabin there in 1991 and yes it did have indoor plumbing) where I eeked out a living tending bar and waitr...Expand for more
essing. I also got my first dog Polarbear while I lived here.
Spent 1 1/2 yrs in The Dalles, OR working as a bartender and helped a friend run her bed and breakfast 1997-1998.
Moved to Missoula Montana 1998.
Worked temp jobs 1998-1999 and bought a mobile home.
Got a job with the Forest Service summarizing public comment 1999-2003. Spent 4 months in Arlington, VA on a detail editing regulations 2003.
The program in Missoula was terminated in 2003.
Bought a house 2002 about 2 months before I found out I was losing my job.
Went back to Arlington, VA on a contract to write instructions for a database 2003.
Got work with the University of Montana as a glorified, overworked, underpaid secretary 2004.
Sold my mobile home 2005.
Polarbear died and I acquired 2 more dogs, Roka and Glacier, both white Akitas and the joy of my life.
Currently still at the University of Montana (Go Griz!).
