Barbara's Story
Life
In the last 48 yrs. I have been married twice, have 5 children (3 girls, 2 boys: Laura (45), Corrections officer at Chowchilla, CA prison, a son, Nicholas, 21, in US Army; has been stationed in Iran for past 1 1/2 years, presently in process of being deployed back to the United States for one year, then back to Iran......at least that's what he's been told by the "powers that be"); Dan (42, computer technician at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, 2 daughters, Ashley 14, Rylee Danielle, 2 years), Mark (41, Navy veteran of Gulf War, now disabled due to 2 disc surgeries, living with me while looking for a home to buy; Rita (39, RN for Heartland; daughter Tiffany 18, works full-time at a convalescent center in New Baden, IL, will be going to college for a nursing career; son Jarred 15, working part-time at a Trenton convalescent center, will be entering his sophomore year in August '08), Cathi (38, housewife, daughter Meghan 9, expecting second child on 12/20/08). Don, my brother, was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1992 (as the result of a deer running into his motorcycle). My employment throughout the years has been secretarial field for civil service, banks, hospitals, attorneys, Teamsters Local Union. Retired from US Bank, St. Louis, MO in May 2005. As in high school, my favorite form of entertainment is still dancing, sorry to say don't do much of that anymore as my dance partners either live too far away from me, are deceased, or cannot dance due to their health. mother and stepfather, as all of my children are "scattered" throughout the US. My biggest enjoyments in life are being with my loved ones and loving the Lord. It certainly doesn't seem possible that I've been out of school for half of a century. I enjoy hearing from any of my former classmates.
My two ex-husbands were in the Air Force, and as a result we had the usual transfers from base-to-base; stationed at Scott AFB, IL, Tinker AFB, OK, Vandenberg AFB, CA. I really enjoyed the military life and to this day still miss it.
I'm looking forward very much to the 50th year class reunion of the Class of 1958.

10.1.2014 Attended the 50 yrs. reunion in 2008, had very enjoyable time, glad to see former classmates, sorry to learn of all of the deaths of former classmates. The last of my grandchildren, Joshua, was born 12.22.08. Sadly, my children have said "no more grandchildren!" :( My former husbands are now deceased (Bob Rafferty in 2006; Jim Felts in 2012). After the death of my mother 8.3.2013, I relocated to Meridianville, AL to live w/my daughter Laura and her 3 babies (1Siberian Husky, 2 cocker spaniels...love them dearly!). I LOVE being retired!!! Laura has also retired; Rita is an RN, in Dec. will be a Nurse Practitioner; Dan is a tech at St. Anthony's Hospital; Cathi is employed by a chiropractor in Edwardsville, IL, Mark is, probably for the rest of his life, on disability.
That's about it for now. Update in a year or so.....maybe. :D
