Barbara's Story
Life
I am currently looking for another job. Along w/ thousands of others, I was part of the RIF(reduction-in-force) at Credit Suisse (the investment bank) in NYC. Whle there, I was a Director at the Business School, with an ever changing & increasing scope of responsibilities. When I joined the firm in Oct'06 I was brought in as the Regional Mgr for Shared Services Institute, Americas & the Senior Learning Business Partner for CFO & Investment Banking OPS Divisions, Americas. In January I was asked to take on the Centers of Excellence, Americas and last summer as asked to move from a regional to a global role for the Business School.

my last two positions, I was so fortunate, I didn't even had to go outside to get to work if I didn't want to. I love NYC but wish I had more business trips to Boston, I do miss the area and it's not easy being a RED SOX fan here! It's also a lot more difficult (and expensive) playing tennis & golf around here.
Who knows maybe I can land a senior L&D / OD position in Boston...
Workplace
I was the Chief Learning Officer for Towers Perrin, a B$$$ global, professional services firm in NY. I'm living in Westchester County, N.Y. in a village called Port Chester. My residence is well known in the area, as it is the former corporate headquarters and factory for "Lifesavers" candy.
Travel is a key aspect of my function; I spend a considerable amount of time abroad in EU, Asia, AUS, Latin America.
