Barbara's Story
Hmmm .. can I remember that far back? Ah, yes:
After graduating I decided to give City Life a try, so I moved to San Francisco. Far enough from home, but not *too* far! At San Francisco State I received a BA in Broadcast Communications Arts (emphasis on Educational Technology). College was a wonderful experience: learning from and collaborating with smart, creative individuals, being able to focus my education. Of course, living in San Francisco was an education itself, what with the diversity of people and possibilities. I'm glad I made the choices I did, and that the education I received at Ponderosa made those choices possible.
Once I got my degree I landed a job at a (then) cutting edge special effects/music video company. From exploding model airplanes to hand-drawn animation, it was a fascinating job. Most importantly, I learned about editing. Being young, I didn't hesitate to leave the security of that job for a freelance one in editing.

By 1989 I realized that I'd have to sacrifice amazing views and superlative public transportation to further my chosen career, so I moved to Los Angeles. I've happily worked in editing ever since ... it's absolutely the best job for me!
What else? I bought a small house with a (relatively) big yard in a semi-urban neighborhood (need space to grow tomatoes, peppers, herbs, fruit trees and flowers), adopted the smallest big dog ever (80 lbs), married a wonderful man, got a great stepson in the deal (he just started high school). I volunteer time at the local Boys & Girls Club and a refuge for Gibbons. I've been able to travel quite a bit (I hope in five years it will be "extensively traveled"), still hike, camp and ride my mountain bike. I stopped rock climbing but am trying to get better at cross-country skiing.
I'm still in touch with a couple of high school friends, and come up to the foothills three or four times a year.
That's my life -- yours?
