Barbara's Story

Life I moved to Boynton Beach, FL. in 1974, where I met and married Gordon Ready. Sadly, Gordon passed away in September of 2016. We have 3 children, Bryan, married Shannon, John, married Danielle, and Brittany, married Brandon. I was happy to be able to devote many years as a PTA President at three different schools, and had a blast doing every field trip and advisory committee at each of their schools as well. Between the rummage sales and spaghetti dinners, we enjoyed more baseball and softball games than we could ever count. Bryan was able to get baseball scholarships and played ball at the college level. Those games were awesome, we went to as many of the games as we could. eam for several years (while they were still little and sweet!), volunteered and ran the Boynton Beach Little League concession stand for most of those years, and sat on the LL Board for almost a decade. I've chaired the City of Boynton Beach Arts Commission for our Art in Public Places program, currently chair the City's Historic Resources Preservation Board, and have led the charge to save Old Boynton Beach High School, which is historically important to our city.
