Barbara's Story

Life Wow! Has it been more than 48 years already? I don't feel THAT old but here I am. I like to think I haven't changed much, although now I am the divorced mom to two adult kids. Yikes! I’m one proud mama! My son was born in 1990 and graduated Illinois State in 2013. He then joined the Air Force and spent several years working in Military intel in Colorado and attending the University of Colorado Boulder where he graduated in 2020. He moved back to Chicago in late 2020 to attend grad school at UIC for Epidemiology. It’s so nice to have him close by again. My daughter (born in 1992) will soon begin her final year in nursing school. She’s blessed me with two grandchildren who are the loves of my life. I am still short and still have long red hair. Life has been good. I moved from Evanston in 1995 and am now in the southwest burbs. It's very beautiful ...Expand for more
down here. Both my parents long ago passed away. I graduated from DePaul University in 2015 and now work in corporate tax for a Fortune 100 Public Utility based in Chicago I enjoy life doing outdoors sports. Camping, hiking, skiing, kayaking etc. I was sidelined by a knee injury for a few years but had both replaced in 2020 and 2021 and it’s been fantastic. . I was a trainer for the Boy Scouts of America in my spare time for a few years. I used teach outdoor cooking to scoutmasters. Go figure. At the age of 45, I obtained my motorcycle license. I was married over 20 years to a guy from Margaret Mary's parish in Rogers Park. I've been divorced since 2005. Time sure flies. I am in a great and happy place...finally. I keep hoping someone will plan a St. Nicks class of '73 reunion. Perhaps someday, someone will. Until then, hope you all are well and happy.
