Barbara's Story
Married Fred Powell on April 6 1968, Easter break that year. He was in the U.s. Navy. We were transferred to Norfolk Va , until May of 1969, when he was discharged. We lived in Owensboro Ky, raising 4 daughters, who are all grown now and married, with children of their own, 11 total.. in 1996, my husband passed away, after a long illness. I enjoyed staying home and raising my girls, until they were all in school, and then went back to school myself, to earn my degree as a registered nurse. I worked a...Expand for more
t the local hospital for 23 years, as a nursery nurse, attending hundreds of births, and caring for sick and well newborns. I am now happily retired with time extra time on my hands to with the grandkids, sew, crochet, and quilting. I have had a very happy life, good marriage, and wonderful family. Don’t know if I will ever make it back to Kingsville. I enjoy Ky, and has home for many years. I was never very active in school,, but was a good student. I was on the quiet side, but have grown out of that.
